Dexter Morgan

MICHAEL C. HALL

Moving effortlessly from an uptight funeral director on Six Feet Under to a Miami blood-spatter analyst and serial killer on DEXTER, MICHAEL C. HALL continues to illuminate the humanity and intelligence in transformative, challenging characters. Last year for DEXTER, Hall garnered nominations for 'Best Actor - Drama Series' from both the Screen Actors Guild® and the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (Golden Globes®).

A formally trained stage actor, Michael C. Hall made an indelible impression as younger brother 'David Fisher' on HBO's groundbreaking series Six Feet Under. During the series' five-year run, Hall received nominations for the Emmy® Award for 'Best Performance by a Leading Actor in a Drama Series' and the AFI Male Television 'Actor of the Year' Award. Hall and the Six Feet Under cast received 2003 and 2004 SAG® Awards for 'Best Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series,' for which they were also nominated in 2002 and 2005.

A graduate of New York University's Master of Fine Arts program in acting, Hall has appeared in nearly a dozen major stage productions. He made his Broadway debut as 'Emcee' in Cabaret, directed by Sam Mendes, and most recently starred as 'Billy Flynn' in Chicago. Off-Broadway, Hall starred opposite Alec Baldwin and Angela Bassett in Macbeth, directed by George C. Wolfe and Cymbeline with Liev Schreiber for the New York Shakespeare Festival. Other performances include Timon Of Athens and Henry V at the Public Theatre, The English Teachers for Manhattan Class Company, the Manhattan Theatre Club's production of Corpus Christi, directed by Joe Mantello, and Skylight at the Mark Taper Forum.

Michael C. Hall's film credits include John Woo's Paycheck and the independent drama Bereft.

AS DEXTER MORGAN

He'll charm fellow officers with a doughnut, wile away a Sunday with his girlfriend Rita, or chop up a victim and package their body parts in plastic bags. Hiding beneath the mundane exterior and contrived façade of Dexter, a charming blood spatter expert for the Miami Police Department, is an obsession with meting his own twisted brand of justice: stalking and murdering the guilty.

Julie Benz

JULIE BENZ

JULIE BENZ has just completed starring opposite Sylvester Stallone in John Rambo, the fourth installment of the Rambo film series. For her work in DEXTER, Benz recently won the 2006 Golden Satellite Award. Benz was also recently seen in the leading role in Circle Of Friends. She is best known for her role as the evil vampire 'Darla' on the series Buffy The Vampire Slayer and continued on Angel. Her television movie credits include The Long Shot, Taken and the award-winning Lackawanna Blues. Her episodic work includes Roswell, NCIS, Peacemakers, King Of Queens, Supernatural and CSI: Miami. On the big screen, Benz had a great turn with Jack Nicholson in As Good As It Gets, played 'Ursula' in George Of The Jungle 2, and starred with Rose McGowan in Jawbreaker. Julie Benz recently co-starred with Bill Bellamy and Shemar Moore in The Brothers and will appear in the upcoming independent feature Kill Your Darlings.

AS RITA BENETT

Rita's everything Dexter's looking for in a girlfriend: broken and sexually disinterested. Surviving a violent exhusband and harbouring the mental scars to prove it, Rita is struggling to raise two kids on her own. Together, Dexter and Rita attempt to create a sense of normalcy in their often twisted lives.

Jennifer Carpenter

JENNIFER CARPENTER

JENNIFER CARPENTER made quite an impression with her chilling performance in The Exorcism Of Emily Rose. Critics raved, and she took home the 2006 MTV Movie Award for 'Best Frightened Performance.' She also received a Hollywood Life Breakthrough Award. Jennifer Carpenter studied at Juilliard in New York and starred on stage alongside Laura Linney and Liam Neeson in The Crucible.

AS DEBRA MORGAN

As Dexter puts it about his cop sister, 'if I could have feelings at all, I'd have them for Deb.' Her career ambitions - getting out of vice and into homicide in Series 1 - fall short due to insecurity and the belief within the department that she does her best police work in a 'sex suit'. Deb looks up to Dexter but senses there is more to him than meets the eye.

Erik King

ERIK KING

ERIK KING has appeared in a number of feature films including the blockbuster adventure National Treasure opposite Nicholas Cage and Desperate Measures with Michael Keaton. King starred in the series Oz as well as apperances on Malcolm In The Middle, Charmed and CSI: Miami. King appeared on The District and Touched By An Angel. Erik King's earlier career proves he is no stranger to crime dramas, as he has also starred in major series' Matlock, NYPD Blue and JAG.

AS SGT. DOAKES

An ill-tempered ex special ops/military, Doakes is the one cop on the force, supposed experts in judging character, who suspects something isn't quite right with Dexter.

From 1997-2003, Vélez starred in Oz, winning an ALMA Award for her role as 'Dr. Gloria Nathan.' However, she is perhaps best known for her role as 'Nina Moreno' on the cop drama New York Undercover. She also starred in the pilot for Strong Medicine: First Response and has appeared in Law & Order, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Medium and The Pretender, as well as Numb3rs. For DEXTER, Lauren Vélez was recently nominated for another ALMA award.

AS LT. MARIA LAGUERTA

Whether a wink, a sly look or hand on his shoulder, Lt. LaGuerta, the division's boss and resident dictator, makes no attempt to hide her sexual interest in Dexter.

A former New York City Police officer, DAVID ZAYAS began his acting career when he teamed up with Philip Seymour Hoffman at the Labyrinth Theatre Company. James Remar also has a recurring role on the CBS episodic Jericho.

AS HARY MORGAN

Harry Morgan, Dexter's adopted father and a former homicide detective, was first to spot Dexter's passion for human vivisection and helped his son channel his homicidal impulses in a more constructive pursuit: delivering vigilante justice.

AS AGENT FRANK LUNDY

Frank is an extremely intelligent and competent agent, to the point he openly relaxes and takes breaks on duty without fear of missing anything on cases.
