Synopsis
Directed by Oscar nominee Agnieszka Holland, this thought-provoking film, based on a true story, tells of Eddie Araujo (J. D. Pardo) who struggles with his secret of being a young woman trapped in a man's body.

With his brave decision to live life as a woman, changing his name to Gwen, he must endure the pitfalls that accompany it as tensions reach a dangerous high as disapproval escalates at home and at school as he pursues his ultimately tragic quest for acceptance. Gwen's mother Sylvia (Mercedes Ruehl) honours her memory by acting as an advocate for all transgender people. Trivia: Eddie Araujo took the name Gwen after Gwen Stefani of No Doubt, her favourite singer.
