Synopsis
Rex, Hollywood's top-grossing canine, is known for his extreme athletic abilities and diva-like demeanour. His perks package rivals that of any A-list celebrity, includes Kobe beef, a poodle harem, and a diamond collar.

Rex's luck runs out as an aerial stunt goes awry, leading Rex's handlers to presume he's dead. Chased by animal control, he takes refuge in grubby abandoned lofts and is befriended by Shane (Josh Hutcherson), a bright but rebellious 12-year-old.

Bruce Greenwood stars as Connor, a single parent and captain of the rundown inner city fire station known as Dogpatch and is in charge of inspiring the sad-sack company. Soon Rex's special stunt skills are getting the station into the news as he performs amazing rescues when the boys are called out to fires.
