Synopsis
Matthew Vaughn (Layer Cake) directs this rip-roaring tale of love and high adventure, featuring an all-star cast, which begins in the sleepy English village of Wall, so called for the cobblestone wall that keeps the villagers safely apart from the supernatural parallel universe that lies on the other side.

Charlie Cox stars as Tristan Thorne, who makes a promise to the prettiest girl in the village (Sienna Miller), whose heart he hopes to win, that he will bring her back a fallen star. To do this, Tristan must cross the forbidden wall and enter a mysterious kingdom lit by unending magic and unfolding legends of which he will become a part.

The cast includes Claire Danes, Peter O'Toole, Michelle Pfeiffer, Robert De Niro, Ricky Gervais, and Rupert Everett. Narration is by Sir Ian McKellen.

TRIVIA:
The last film of Mark Burns who plays Bishop, who died before the film came out; all princes wear clothing with a pattern spelling out their number in Roman numerals, composed by smaller Arabic numerals. Septimus wears a vest with the numeral 7 on each button; the three witches share their names with demonic creatures from Greek mythology.
