Synopsis
Oscar nominees Glenn Close and Ralph Fiennes star with Carrie-Anne Moss and Allison Janney in this darkly satirical comedy, where the death of a troubled teen throws a seemingly idyllic suburb into chaos.

Jamie Bell, who made his film debut as Billy Elliott, stars as a disaffected teenager living in a perfect world populated by parents often too wrapped up in their own problems to pay attention to their children. As the adults begin to emotionally unravel, the Chumscrubber takes over - a comic book and video game character in the form of a decapitated post-apocalyptic teenager who has become an unavoidable pop-culture icon.

TRIVIA:
Director Arie Posen's father was a Russian film director, but he was a staunch anti-Communist, which wasn't acceptable. He was actually sent to Siberia and when he came out became one of the leaders of the underground; Director Tarkovsky was a family friend, and Posen's father went to school with Konchalovsky. This generation of Russian directors worshipped the Italian Neo-Realists, so De Sica, Rossellini and Fellini were Gods in the Posen household; Director Billy Wilder's advice to Posen on being a film director was "Get the hell out of this town!" He said, "You want to be a director, go see the world! Go screw a French girl!"
