Synopsis
Swearengen and the town leaders establish an ad hoc government to raise bribe money, Calamity Jane weighs up her options and Alma discovers Bullock's secret life.

Seth Bullock (Timothy Oliphant) abandons his position as Marshall in the Montana Territory to begin a career as a hardware merchant in Deadwood. Joining Bullock in the endeavor is his friend Sol Star (John Hawkes). Also drawn to Deadwood is Wild Bill Hickok (Keith Carradine), the famed gunfighter and lawman; Bill travels with his old friend Charlie Utter (Dayton Callie) and the foul-mouthed Calamity Jane (Robin Weigert).
