Synopsis
Deadwood breathes easier when riders arrive with the smallpox vaccine and word of a possible treaty with the Sioux. Alma rethinks her plans for the gold claim setting up a confrontation between Bullock and Swearengen.

Seth Bullock (Timothy Oliphant) abandons his position as Marshall in the Montana Territory to begin a career as a hardware merchant in Deadwood. Joining Bullock in the endeavor is his friend Sol Star (John Hawkes). Also drawn to Deadwood is Wild Bill Hickok (Keith Carradine), the famed gunfighter and lawman; Bill travels with his old friend Charlie Utter (Dayton Callie) and the foul-mouthed Calamity Jane (Robin Weigert).
