Synopsis
Oscar-winner Robert Duvall (Joe) and Oscar-nominee Glenn Close (Ruth) star in this gentle family drama of the painful repercussions of an accidental death on a Montana farm. When the tragedy results in the death of an older brother, a family are forced to face major emotional adjustments dealing with both their grief and lingering resentment towards their young son, Arnold. Just a boy, Arnold is unable to handle the unspoken disappointment, so he moves in with his more forgiving grandfather (Wilford Brimley). The director, Christopher Cain, is the father of Dean Cain, who also appears in the film.
