Synopsis After more than 40 years apart, Andreas and Claire embark on an affair as reckless and intense as when they were young lovers in this award-winning drama. Both are in their sixties and Claire is married, but in spite of everyone's disapproval, they discover that their passion for each other is undiminished. As Claire says, "It isn't always possible to resist... to obey the rules and deny the things that really matter." Superb Australian actors Charles Tingwell and Julia Blake bring a poignant sensitivity to Andreas and Claire with the wonderful Terry Norris (Human Touch, ABC's Bellbird for those of us old enough to remember) as John, Claire's confused, but understanding, husband who although being hurt, feels that at last something unexpected has happened. The extremely talented Paul Cox (Molokai: the Story of Father Damien) takes on a touching subject ignored by most film makers; the possibility that older people may be just that on the outside, but inside the passion of youth still lingers. Cox's film is about love; mad, passionate, demanding, forgiving, accepting love. The supporting cast includes Robert Menzies (Three Dollars) and Cox stalwarts Chris Heywood and Norman Kaye.
