Synopsis
Peter Bogdanovich directs Oscar winning Cher as the freewheeling mother of Rusty Dennis (Eric Stoltz) in this moving true story of a teenager suffering from a disfiguring disease. Undaunted, Rusty is determined to have a full, if short life aided by Jurassic Park's Laura Dern as a blind girl who helps him find love, and his mother who fights for her son's rights, but can't seem to get her own life under control.

TRIVIA:
When Cher was cast in the film she wanted her then boyfriend Val Kilmer to play Gar, but he was rejected for being too young for the part; Bob Segar's songs were substituted when the studio failed to reach an agreement with Bruce Springsteen; the music was reinstated for the Director's Cut when Springsteen himself pushed for its inclusion.
