Synopsis
The Gainor family seems to live the American Dream: a house in the Omaha, Nebraska suburbs, two children and two incomes. Dave Foley stars as Stu, a people-pleasing underachiever, and Lea Thompson as Ginger, a driven real estate agent. They alter their annual family vacation and instead rent an RV to fulfil Ginger's dream of seeing Doheny Beach in Southern California.

But the goal to reach California is compromised when daughter Cookie sneaks her loser boyfriend, Kevin (Nicholas Fackler), into the bathroom of the RV. When Kevin's unconventional parents arrive, Ginger and Stu are appalled at their offbeat lifestyle.
