Synopsis
His reputation in tatters, Wolsey is accosted during an attempt to speak with Henry and spirited away by Norfolk and Boleyn. Charged with defying the king's authority, he is stripped of all his powers and imprisoned in order to await a verdict on his fate. However, while Henry quickly rescinds the cardinal's prison sentence and allows him to retreat to his estate in York, he also appoints a reluctant More to replace him.

In this Showcase Original Presentation we see Henry as never before: young, sexy, intriguing, romantic and infinitely more complex than he's usually depicted. Covering 10 tumultuous years leading to the King's first divorce and filmed entirely on location in Ireland, the series stars Jonathan Rhys Meyers as Henry, Jeremy Northam, Sam Neill, Natalie Dormer, Henry Cavill, Callum Blue and Gabrielle Anwar.
