Synopsis
Based on the novel by Michael Morpurgo, Paul Scofield stars in this English drama as The Birdman; a strange, deaf eccentric living in a village suffering through the anguish of World War I. The Birdman must enlist the help of two children, Daniel Pender and Gracie Jenkins, to prevent the narwhal whales from suffering abuse at the hands of the local islanders. Though warned against Birdman by other villagers they make friends with him.
