Missing In Action
M v
Starring Chuck Norris, M. Emmet Walsh, Lenore Kasdorf, James Hong
Director Joseph Zito
Year 1984
Genre War
Synopsis Chuck Norris stars as a tough-as-nails American colonel and former North Vietnamese prisoner, who escapes from a brutal prisoner of war camp. He returns to Vietnam to find and rescue other MIA's and to bring it to the attention of the authorities that there are still Americans imprisoned in Vietnam.
TRIVIA: In his autobiography, Chuck Norris stated that he made this film as a memorial in honour of his younger brother Wieland, who was killed in the Vietnam War in 1970; filmed in sync with Missing In Action 2, this was supposed to be the sequel, however when the producers realised this one was the better of the two, they simply renamed them and made the other film a prequel to this; Chuck's brother Aaron was the stunt coordinator for the two sequels, although he was uncredited in the second. He went on to direct the last Missing in Action film.
