Synopsis
Oscar winners Richard Dreyfuss and Susan Sarandon star in this feel-good comedy where a struggling writer is forced to get a day job as a truant officer at a LA school.

On meeting 11-year-old Tim (Star Trek: The Next Generation's Wil Wheaton), they become friends, leading to a fateful meeting with the boy's single mother (Sarandon). But there's a catch - she lives with her domineering mother (the wonderful Jean Stapleton), and he's got a nasty ex-girlfriend waiting to ruin everything.
