Synopsis
Mark Rydell directs this much lauded Oscar-nominated film with Bette Midler in her first starring role as Rose, a self-destructive rock star bearing a striking resemblance to Janis Joplin.

Midler is exceptional as we follow Rose's career during her last tour as her sex, drugs and rock'n'roll lifestyle sends her spiralling out of control. Tracks such as 'When a Man Loves a Woman', 'Keep on Rockin'', 'The Rose' and the haunting 'Stay With Me' send tingles down the spine.
