Synopsis
Samuel L. Jackson stars as flamboyant con man, hustler and consummate boxing promoter, Reverend Fred Sultan.

With boxing attendance dwindling Sultan's solution is to find a white heavyweight contender to face the undefeated heavyweight champ, James "The Grim Reaper" Roper (Damon Wayans showcasing his infectious physical comedy). Sultan finds his Great White Hope in a seedy bar in Cleveland: ex-frontman for a rock band Terry Conklin (Peter Berg), who beat the champ in an amateur bout many years earlier.

Jeff Goldblum stars as a white crusader caught up in a culture of lies.
