Synopsis
Golden Globe-winner Dylan McDermott stars in this socio-political story based on the novel by Pulitzer Prize-Winning author Bernard Malamud.

Set in an abandoned New York apartment building in the early 1970s, it is essentially the story of two writers - Jewish novelist, Harry Lesser, struggling to complete his latest work whilst being the last remaining tenant, and an illegal squatter, antagonistic black writer, Willie, played by Hip Hop/Rap star Snoop Dogg, who moves in down the hall. AFI-nominee Rose Byrne stars as Willie's girlfriend, Irene, who falls for Lesser causing Willie to burn the only manuscript of Lesser's novel resulting in a climactic life-and-death struggle. Support cast includes Seymour Cassel, Laz Alonso and Aldis Hodge.
