Synopsis
Seal Anderson (Michael Madsen) adores his young grade school daughter, Alicia "Ace" Anderson (Dominique Swain), and teaches her the one thing he has to offer: the mathematical probabilities and technique of poker.

Years later, Ace enters medical school on a scholarship and with the struggles of mounting academic and financial pressures, Ace's fellow classmates convince her to utilise her unique talents to train them to be top-notch poker players. An old friend of her dad (Lou Gossett Jr.) watches over Ace as she takes the casinos by storm and rakes in some big money. But under the pressure of playing in the casinos at night and being alert and competent in the operating room by day, Ace realises that what her father was really trying to convey those many years ago: in order to really live, you need to go 'all in'.
