Oscar winner Julia Roberts voices Charlotte, who becomes Wilbur's best friend and saviour. Also joining as cast voices are Steve Buscemi, Cedric the Entertainer, John Cleese, Robert Redford and Thomas Haden Church.
TRIVIA: It wasn't the correct season in Melbourne so during the county fair scenes, the trees were spray painted with non-toxic orange and yellow paint to make it seem as though it was autumn; there were 47 Wilburs on set because the piglets grew up so fast and each Wilbur was taught only one "trick", like to stare up or to walk a certain distance; the book that Fern was reading to the animals in the barn was "Make Way for Ducklings", by Robert McCloskey.
