SHOWCASE SHINES AT ASTRA AWARD NOMINATIONS
With SHOWTIME and showcase receiving a total of 20 nominations

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - WEDNESDAY 26 MARCH 2008 - Australia's premium channel - showcase - has received the most number of nominations for the 6th Annual ASTRA AWARDS - with 13 nominations across 7 categories, with sister channel SHOWTIME receiving 7 nominations across 4 categories.

showcase was nominated for the Most Creative Off Air Program Promotion for its channel launch in December 2007. The launch premiere programming also faired very well with both The Riches and Dexter being nominated for both the Most Outstanding International Program or Event and Favourite International Program as well as Satisfaction being nominated in the Most Outstanding Drama and Favourite Program categories.

Satisfaction received a total of 5 nominations including Most Outstanding Performance by an Actor - Female for Diana Glenn, Bojana Novakovic and Alison Whyte as well as both the Outstanding Drama and Favourite Program categories listed above.

SHOWTIME's Love My Way received a total of 7 nominations including Most Outstanding Performance by an Actor - Female for Claudia Karvan and Asher Keddie as well as Most Outstanding Performance by an Actor - Male for Brendan Cowell, Dan Wyllie and Ben Mendelsohn. The landmark series also received nominations in both the Most Outstanding Drama and Favourite Program categories.

In addition Dexter's Michael C. Hall and The Riches Eddie Izzard and Minnie Driver were all nominated in the Favourite Internation0al Personality or Actor category which is voted for by the subscribing public.

SHOWTIME and showcase swept the pool in the Most Outstanding Performance by an Actor - Female category with Love My Way's Asher Keddie and Claudia Karvan and Satisfaction's Bojana Novakovic, Diana Glenn and Alison Whyte taking all 5 nominations.
